Welcome to Itoju Project
Comprehensive Cervical Cancer Screening, Treatment and Research.
Cervical cancer, caused by persistent infection with one of about a dozen carcinogenic types of human papillomavirus (HPV), is a leading cause of cancer in women in the world. most women in Nigeria have never been screened for cervical cancer by any recognized effective method in their lifetime due to the absence of any organized cervical cancer screening program.
The current effort aims to validate an accurate and long-lasting cervical screening and treatment method for Nigeria. This screening program will mix cutting-edge, less expensive techniques with traditional program components.
